General Medical Examinations
General medical examinations are performed annually and help determine the status of your overall health. This allows our primary care providers to partner with you on your way to wellness. Our clinic allows patients to schedule these appointments up to one year in advance.
General Gynecological Examinations
Similarly, general gynecological examinations provide an overall assessment of gynecological health. Our patients are conveniently referred to our partner obstetricians and gynecologists at Physicians For Women (located on the main level of our building) for more extensive gynecological services including the management of urinary incontinence, abnormal bleeding, infertility, pelvic pain and abnormal pap smears to name just a few.
Focus of Preventative Care
In general, the focus of a preventative visit is to make sure you are up to date with health screenings like mammograms and colonoscopies, screening blood tests and immunizations. It is also a time to discuss healthy lifestyle habits. Vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight are recorded, however a physical exam may be included depending on your health care needs.
Lifestyle Modification Counseling
Daily habits can contribute to the likelihood of developing chronic health issues over time. Lifestyle modification counseling is a key component of our patient work, including counseling on weight goals, nutrition planning and exercise guidelines.
Preventative Cardiology and EKG
Heart health in women has finally been acknowledged as a significant health concern. Our team is skilled in heart disease risk assessments and screenings including evaluation of cholesterol and blood sugar levels, body mass index and waist circumference. We evaluate your family history and lifestyle habits and help you establish a cardiac risk reduction plan.
Electrocardiogram (EKG) may be used to further assess your heart disease risks, and are commonly used to evaluate chest pain, palpitations and as part of a pre-operative risk evaluation.
Preventative Health Screenings
In each phase of our life our health needs change, and so do the preventative health screenings
Urgent Health Care
Although patients are encouraged to plan their visits, we understand that urgent health concerns arise. Our on-staff triage nurse is available to help you schedule appointments, including same-day appointments when necessary.
Should your treatment require referral to another specialist for care, rest assured that we are here to help. Our physician and staff will help navigate the often confusing and intimidating health care systems, coordinate appointments and answer questions along the way.
